MCAK's Research & Publications
Leading the Mitumba Conversation with Evidence & Data
MCAK serves as a vital knowledge hub for Kenya’s second-hand clothing sector, partnering with leading research institutions, including IEA Kenya and KIPPRA, to generate credible evidence and data-driven insights that inform policymaking, strengthen technical training and guide the implementation of effective interventions. Our research examines the sector’s economic contribution, global supply chains, environmental performance and regulatory landscape. By translating industry data into practical policy recommendations and solutions, MCAK advances the circular economy and supports targeted, evidence-based interventions that address genuine challenges without unnecessarily disrupting legitimate trade, livelihoods or access to affordable clothing.
